Join us on Friday, September 7th for a taste of what's to come--literally! The carriage house behind the store will be unveiled in its bare-bones state as our future coffee roastery + lab space and Director of Coffee Matthew Loiacono will host a coffee tasting and Q+A. This will be an opportunity for folks to experience the raw potential of the space as well as taste preview roasts, learn of Loiacono’s approach to sourcing and roasting coffee and provide insight on the mission, vision and values of the new roasting arm of the company. To top it all off and ensure the endeavor gets off on the right foot, our fav wine guy, Corey Mitchell from 22 2nd Street Wine Co, will be in the house popping bottles for your enjoyment... because this is a celebration after all! The roasting team will be on-hand (with drink-in-hand!) to field any questions from the community one-on-one.
As you probably know (or could guess), renovating a 100 yr old building takes a lot of blood, sweat, tears and...money. We’ll be working hard over the coming months to bring this space to life so we can make our vision a reality. We’ve been through this process before so we are under no illusions about the work that lies ahead.
Turning this carriage house into a functioning roastery is going to take some time and a lot of determination on our part. We’ll take all of the encouraging words and positive vibes we can get while we’re building this thing but we will also have some early-release coffees on hand to get the ball rolling.
Bags of our first batches of roasted coffee and bottled iced coffee will be available on a name-your-own-price basis so you can contribute what you wish to our cause :)
See you there!
